There are 5 idea groups in LT that relates to colonization. All idea groups within colonization require DIP points.

Colonization Edit

  • You can only take 1 out of the 4 "colonization" idea groups.
  • All colonization idea groups give 2 colonists with the exception of "Route to the East.

  1. Colonist +1
  2. Allow hire explorer
  3. Settler Chance +10%
  4. Global settler increase +25
  5. Unrest -1
  6. Colonial range +25%, Naval FL+10%
  7. Colonist +1
  8. Global Tariffs +25%

Colonization-Trade Edit

  1. Colonist +1
  2. Allow hire explorer
  3. Colonial range +35%
  4. Foreign Trade power +10%
  5. Merchant +1, Trade steering +5%
  6. Trade income +10%
  7. Colonist +1
  8. Reduced native attacks

Colonization-Conquer Edit

  1. Colonist +1
  2. Allow hire explorer
  3. Colonial range +50%
  4. Global tariffs +20%, Settler chance +5%
  5. Colonist +1
  6. Missionary Strength +1%
  7. Naval FL+20%
  8. CB on Meso-American, South American, North American

Colonization-Route to the Far East Edit

  1. Allow hire explorer, Naval attrition -10%
  2. Colonist +1
  3. Colonial range +50%, Trade range +15%
  4. Foreign Trade power +5%
  5. Merchant +1
  6. Trade steering +15%
  7. Light Ship Combat Ability +10%
  8. Naval FL+20%

Expansion Edit

  • Requires at least one idea group.
  1. Core Cost -10%, Claim time -10%
  2. Colonist +1
  3. Global settler increase +10
  4. Merchant +1
  5. Diplomatic Relations +2
  6. Global Tariffs +10%, Vassal income +10%
  7. Global Trade power +10%
